Learning to trust the journey when the road ahead feels uncertain
People who know me well, know this: I don’t always know where I am.
Lately, I’ve been traveling a lot for work, and I find myself on backroads that I never knew existed. I don’t always catch the signs telling me where I am, so I just trust Google Maps or Waze to get me where I need to go.
But late-lee, that got me thinking—about life.
Most days, we wake up, go where we’re supposed to go, come home, and go to bed—just to do it all over again. Repeat. Copy and paste. Week after week.
And sometimes, somewhere in that routine, we lose pieces of ourselves.
You start to forget who you are beyond the to-do lists and expectations. One morning, you wake up and wonder, “Is this it?”
You look in the mirror and feel like you’re staring straight through your own reflection—like there’s a void on the other side.
I don’t think we talk about that part enough. The part where we’re moving, doing, and showing up—but feel completely lost anyway.
But here’s the thing I’m learning: just because you feel lost doesn’t mean you are.
Sometimes you’re just on a road you haven’t traveled before. The signs might not be clear, but that doesn’t mean you’re not headed somewhere worth going.
So if you find yourself in that space—moving but unsure, present but disconnected—know you’re not alone. It’s okay to pause. To ask questions. To not have all the answers. You’re not off track just because the path is unfamiliar. Maybe this season isn’t about being found—it’s about discovering something new in yourself along the way. Keep going. You’re not as lost as you think.
